Xios Mastic Resinoid

Our Xios Greek mastic resinoid is a very important tool for perfumers. A lot of people do not know, but mastic is one of those ingredients, like costus root, which was used extensively in vintage French perfumery, albeit hardly ever mentioned in the notes. Its capability as a resin is immense in creating a very strong fixative effect. Unlike the essential oil of mastic or mastic leaf which is a very high impact terpenic oil, the resinoid is a base note material with immense strength, longevity and very low impact.

The way our mastic is sourced, treated, and extracted is second to none, and getting some of this material is a must for any serious perfumer, or perfume raw material afficionado.
